Clean, crisp, youthful yet possessing plenty of substance and clear fruity focus in its still somewhat tight aromas, the wine is medium-full on the palate with a hint of oily richness at the front and on the firm, lively and slightly citrusy side as it ends. Slightly toasty oak adds its own support, and everything here cries out for a few years of bottle age. A wait of one to three years would be very much in order, and the wine can be relied upon to hold up and improve for years beyond that.

Intense, mineral-inflected aromas of pear, nectarine and white flowers. Bright, penetrating and emphatically dry, offering vibrant citrus and orchard fruit flavors and showing pronounced minerality. The strikingly long, energetic finish features notes of iodine, smoke and candied ginger, with a sneaky note of pit fruits adding depth.

Absolutely nothing is out of place in a wine that brings together fruit, acidity and structure. This dazzling wine represents one of the highlights in California Chardonnay. It is also one of the few wines in this tasting that still needs time to start showing well. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2020. - Antonio Galloni

Big, ripe and intense, offering a graceful mix of white peach, wet rock, lemon meringue, and fresh-cut wood. Builds momentum slowly, revealing impressive focus. Drink now through 2019. – JL
