The 2010 Barolo Mosconi is born in compact, clay soils that result in wines of increased structure and tannic richness. Despite the inevitable territorial imprinting, this vintage shows a heightened sense of elegance and grace. Short maceration times (from 8 to 10 days) also contribute to fix the brilliant ruby and garnet appearance of the wine. Its color integration is stunning. The mouthfeel is juicy and rich with enduring flavors of wild strawberry and raspberry. Drink: 2016-2026. - Monica Larner

White pepper aromas lead off, along with flavors of cherry and black currant. Expressive and fruity up front, this presents tight-grained, assertive tannins on the back end. Needs some time to harmonize. Best from 2018 through 2035. – BS
