A fresh cool and restrained nose of surpassing elegance displays airy red berry fruit in particular raspberry and currant. Interestingly for a Rugiens this is almost delicate on the mid-palate but there is excellent power and plenty of underlying tension to the very firmly structured linear and somewhat strict if wonderfully persistent and impeccably well-balanced finish. I wouldn't buy this unless you expressly intend to cellar it for at least a decade. - Comments: Outstanding ♥

Sexy aromas of cherry, redcurrant and minerals complicated by smoky earth tones. Impressively dense, intense red fruit and floral flavors are stubbornly closed but already perfume the mouth. The very long, subtle finish features noble tannins and a firm structural underpinning. After 72 hours in the recorked bottle, this wine showed even more perfumed aromas of iron, flowers and minerals and a wonderfully taut, gripping palate, suggesting that it will evolve slowly and be long-lived.
