The 2010 Les Manyes is pure Garnacha from a slope vineyard at 800 meters altitude in the Scala Dei zone with argilo-calcareous soil, the only pure Garnacha they produce, a fragrant, fresh, intoxicating, perfumed, heady and showy Garnacha, with plenty of flowers (cherry blossom) and red berry aromas with notes of oriental spices, balsamic and medicinal aromas. The palate is medium-bodied yet dense, with intense, penetrating and persistent flavors, an earthy sensation and sweet tannins, perfectly integrated oak and alcohol. A powerful, spicy, musky, exuberant Garnacha. In a way, it reminds me of an amplified version of the 2010 Torroja. This is superb, its decadent profile makes me think of the best vintages of Chateau Rayas or Henri Bonneau. It opens up with time in the glass and develops some tantalizing, intoxicating balsamic aromas. Drink now-2022. - Luis Gutierrez
