Juicy and focused with a delicious beam of anise plum and blueberry. Superbright with a long finish and a fine-grained structure. -J.M.

In 2010 the apple does not fall far from the tree with this wine 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc blend. Licorice spice jammy black cherry aromas open to a suave lush fennel spice and ripe dark berry finish.

Abundant ripe Merlot dominated the nose with mulberry cherry liqueur and crème de cassis: heady and exotic. The palate is rounded almost mellifluous on the entry low acidity layers of decadent ripe red-berried fruit... Abundant ripe Merlot dominated the nose with mulberry cherry liqueur and crème de cassis: heady and exotic. The palate is rounded almost mellifluous on the entry low acidity layers of decadent ripe red-berried fruit swathed puppy fat but somehow it manages to retain good definition on the finish. Well crafted.

Trust me there is nothing wrong with the 2010 as it possesses excellent possibly outstanding black raspberry blueberry earth and acacia flower-like characteristics. The wine's soft tannin medium-bodied mouthfeel and less massiveness than most 2010s suggest it will be ready early and drink well for a decade.

Firm and silky with pretty fruit and a minerally aftertaste. Full and fine on the finish. Needs a little more at the end for better numbers.

This estate is run by Christine and Stephane Derenoncourt. The bouquet offers cranberry sweet currant and mineral complemented by pepper coffee and Asian spice. Rich and dense with robust tannins and good length this medium to full bodied wine has a silky texture. The finish is a little subtle for this wine but it is full of promise so give it time and perhaps it will come around. Drink from 2016-2026.
