It just orbits in a very special place where all of the elements are beautifully balanced. Finely knit layers of dark red fruit spices and mint are just some of the notes that emerge from the glass. But the Echezeaux is not about aromas or flavors it is really much more about textural elegance and finesse. This is a dazzling showing. Anticipated maturity: 2020-2030. 94-96+ -Antonio Galloni

A notably ripe and spicy nose combines liqueur of black cherry cassis and earth notes that are very much in keeping with the equally ripe velvety and seductively textured medium-bodied flavors that possess an abundance of tannin-buffering dry extract. There is good volume on the lovely and unusually understated finish; indeed this is almost delicate though there is enough lurking tannin to believe that this should enjoy a long aging curve. In short the 2010 version is a clear step above the quality I usually find with this wine.

Good full red. Very ripe aromas of redcurrant coffee mocha and minerals. Sweet plush and broad--and showy already. Just enough stoniness to lift the middle palate. Finishes with substantial tannins and a hint of warmth.
