Tahbilk has the longest history of continuously growing marsanne in Australia and not so long ago of having the largest single-vineyard plantings in the world. The screwcap has been as big a blessing for marsanne as for semillon and riesling allowing the wine to lazily unfurl its wings over decades. Pale straw-green it has some definite hints of honeysuckle on the bouquet and the palate is full of promise. It will pass through distinct stages over the next 20+ years with 5- 10- and 20-year peaks.

The 2010 Marsanne offers pronounced notes of preserved lemons, honeyed toast, orange blossoms and cedar with a touch of fragrant straw. The palate delivers a great intensity of evolved, but not fully mature Marsanne notes with a waxy/honeyed character complimenting the citrus flavors, finishing with plenty of layers. - Lisa Perrotti-Brown

Lemon blossom and pear. Balanced. Very fine food wine and a legend domestically. Drink it!

Wine Front, February 2011
Some honeysuckle fragrance melon and citrus on a light fresh palate. It's a little backwards and folded in on itself at present but given a few years should stretch out soften up and flesh out - as they most often do.
