The 2010 Chateau Nairac is much more closed on the nose compared to the 2011, with wax resin and dried apricot scents that would benefit from more vigor. It feels sulky compared to the vivacious 2009, but there is a chance that is undergoing a sullen patch. The palate is well-balanced with fresh acidity, a little harder in texture than the 2011, with a linear, mineral-rich finish. This is a conservative, no frills Nairac that would appeal to those seeking tauter and less flamboyant Sauternes. Drink 2017-2035+. Tasted March 2014. - NEAL MARTIN

Planted to clay gravel and sand on top of limestone bed rock. A big spicy nose displays botrytis mixed with lighter citrus notes and toasted coconut. The palate carries this heavy botrytis mixed with toasted nuts along with a creamy texture kept fresh with bright acid for a round short long finish. Enjoy through 2030.
