The 2010 Pavelot Peuillets was also showing very black fruity in November and still a bit cranky from the recent assemblage. The bouquet is a complex and classy blend of cassis dark berries espresso woodsmoke and a fine base of dark soil tones. On the palate the wine is deep full-bodied and impressively transparent with firm structure good acids and fine length and grip on the tangy and ripely tannic finish. I am sure this will be very good.

Denser and sweeter than the Aloxe-Corton with crushed blackberry flavor framed by a firm edge of acidity. Finishes with a lingering note of bitter chocolate. Most of the 2010s here have pHs around 3.47 noted Hugues Pavelot but this one is at 3.57.

A more elegant and slightly fresher nose features a pretty mix of red berries along with hints of violet and plum. There is also more of a mineral character to the appealingly detailed complex and delicious flavors that are shaped by more refined tannins while offering fine length. A classic Peuillets of finesse.
