This is another big wine within the context of its appellation, but the balance is first-rate. Layers of fruit continue to build to the powerful, textured finish. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2025.

This is more elegant but not more complex than the Bourgogne with pretty notes of plum plus spice and warm earth hints. There is an attractive touch of minerality to the slightly finer middle weight flavors that possess a very mild hint of asperity on the otherwise long finish. Good full red. Black raspberry and smoky oak on the nose. Ripe aromas of dark berries, licorice, minerals and menthol are nicely framed by integrated acidity. The firmly tannic finish leaves the taste buds vibrating.
