Sexy aromas of black cherry ginger cumin licorice and violet. Silky on entry then juicy and brisk in the middle with lovely perfume and purity to the dark fruit and mineral flavors. Finishes sweet elegant and long with plenty of dusty tannins a light touch and lingering perfume. An excellent early showing for this wine which comes from vines planted in 1968.

There is excellent mid-palate concentration and plenty of sap that imparts a velvety mouth feel to the muscular flavors that possess a distinct Gevrey style sauvage character that continues onto the long if mildly rustic finish. There is outstanding length to this very firmly structured effort and while it won't win any awards for refinement it quite correctly speaks of its roots.

(WA88-90 points) The 2010 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Corbeaux is rather exuberant in its up-front fruit, but that first impression dissipates a bit as the wine finds its sense of classicism with time in the glass. The Corbeaux possesses gorgeous mid-palate pliancy with an underpinning of firm tannin that will allow it to age gracefully for a number of years. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2025. - Antonio Galloni
