Similar to the nose of the Combe d'Orveau this is gorgeously complex though the components of it are notably different as here there is more emphasis on earth and a sauvage character to the exceptionally fresh and airy... Similar to the nose of the Combe d'Orveau this is gorgeously complex though the components of it are notably different as here there is more emphasis on earth and a sauvage character to the exceptionally fresh and airy yet deeply pitched aromas. The rich intense and palate saturating flavors possess excellent volume yet fine detail as well as a driving minerality that is buffered by an abundance of dry extract that imparts a seductive character to the hugely long finish. This is a classic Combe Aux Moines that is perhaps slightly less youthfully austere than usual at this early stage. In a word terrific. - Comments: Sweet spot Outstanding. ♥

Good bright red. Very ripe but reticent aromas of cherry earth smoke coffee and licorice. Very sweet and silky in the mouth but with lovely lift to the raspberry and sweet oak flavors. Ultimately tight and juicy wine... Good bright red. Very ripe but reticent aromas of cherry earth smoke coffee and licorice. Very sweet and silky in the mouth but with lovely lift to the raspberry and sweet oak flavors. Ultimately tight and juicy wine more mineral than animal in style. The firm youthfully closed finish shows a lot of wood tannins.

Buckets of red Pinot fruit greet the nose here. This is quite the alluring aromatic profile. This is juicy showy and offers the same pronounced fruit from the aromatics on the palate. While forward and approachable there... Buckets of red Pinot fruit greet the nose here. This is quite the alluring aromatic profile. This is juicy showy and offers the same pronounced fruit from the aromatics on the palate. While forward and approachable there is an underlying tannic spine and serious acidity to balance the otherwise delicious fruit. Another excellent showing. 91+
