In contrast to the expressiveness of the prior wine this is quite restrained with cool and pure dark berry fruit aromas that are liberally laced with sauvage and earth hints. There is a lovely sense of refinement to the pure and intense flavors that are shaped by relatively fine-grained tannins on the balanced and long finish. This is on the juicy and generous side and in that sense it's not really a classic Charmes but this is certainly very pretty and should reward medium-term aging as well.
