The Grands Echézeaux from Domaine Georges Noëllat is also produced from vines in excess of eighty years of age and the wine was raised all in new wood in 2010. This is a superb example of the vineyard and the vintage with plenty of stuffing to carry its new oak. The deep and absolutely superb nose offers up a complex mélange of black raspberries black cherries a touch of venison Vosne spices excellent minerality and plenty of cedary spicy new oak. On the palate the wine is deep full-bodied and complex with excellent transparency a fine core of black fruit tangy acids superb focus and a very very long ripely tannic and very well-balanced finish.
