As it often is, this is the most elegant of these 1ers with a well-layered and attractively fresh combination of red and blue pinot fruit, plum, violet and wet stone nuances. The rich, intense and beautifully precise medium weight flavors terminate in a dusty, firm and slightly tangy finish that I suspect is exacerbated due to the presence of quite a bit of gas. My score assumes that this will come together once it is in bottle though note that it will require 12 to 15 years as this is very firm.
