The most ripe lush and voluptuous of the cuvees the 2010 Domaine de la Charbonnière Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Spéciale Les Hautes Brusquières a blend of 59% Grenache 39% Syrah and 2% Counoise aged in both small and large barrels sports an inky purple color as well as sweet aromas of crème de cassis jam-like blackberries loamy earth and spice. Full-bodied and round and fleshy on the palate this is a stunningly fruited wine that firms up nicely on the finish showing loads of structure and tannin. As with this estate's other '10 this will need a handful of years in the cellar to really hit its stride and then should age gracefully for 15+ years.
