The 2010 Martinet Bru is sourced from a hillside vineyard facing Montsant, so it’s cooler and windier and produces fresher wines despite its slate soil. This 2010, mainly Garnacha and Syrah, is fermented in 4,000-liter oak vats where it also ages. The influence of the Syrah is quite noticeable, with beautiful aromas of flowers, smoked bacon and damsons. The palate is medium-bodied, with round, velvety tannins, good freshness, much lighter and balanced than the Martinet Bru of the 1990s. In the future there will be more Carinena in Martinet Bru.
