Scents of lemongrass and pineapple in the nose of a Jos. Christoffel 2010 Urziger Wurzgarten Riesling Spatlese - of which like the corresponding Erdener Treppchen there is just as single bottling - presage a pungent and brightly juicy palate impression remarkably compatible with creaminess of texture. A satisfyingly long finish offers some interaction of fruit with stony and somehow crystalline mineral notes. In keeping with typical behavior at this address I think at least 20 years of satisfaction are assured. - David Schildknecht
