Though Sigalas-Rabaud 2010 was extremely promising out-of-barrel, I never expected that it would trump d’Yquem in a blind tasting once in bottle. It has an engaging, pure and lifted bouquet with scents of lemon curd, honey, ripe oranges and quince that are extremely well-defined. The palate is well-defined with a fine line of acidity, crisp mineralite and tension. This is very composed and tightly wound, a Sauternes probably built for the long-term and not giving too much away now. Yet the class is already tangible. This is one of the best wines from the estate in recent years. Drink now-2030+. - NEAL MARTIN

Densely structured wine full of honey cinnamon and sweetness. The acidity gives just the right counterpoint.

Vibrant nose offers deep aromas of white flowers mango peach and orange jam lifted by tangy botrytis. Clean fresh and stylish with sweet juicy flavors of peppery yellow plum tangerine and banana cream pie. Lively but harmonious acidity gives this wine a touch of austerity on the smooth long finish. This should greatly repay cellaring.

This has a soft but fragrant nose with lots of citrus and coconut cream. With good length moderate depth and a rounded texture this falls a little short on the finish. Will show well early in its life picking up more weight after about 5 years. Enjoy through 2030.

This is bright with a fresh and vibrant backbone of acidity and palate. The first impression of the palate is full of honey and caramel and the finish is long and silky.

Deep orangey gold. Very big and quite beery. Massively sweet - quite an achievement! With the 2010 streak of acidity. Fresh and vigorous but confident and well made. Masses of intrusive acidity.
