Mineral-accented black raspberry and cherry on the hugely aromatic nose. Sweet penetrating red and dark berry preserve flavors show excellent depth and energy with a late note of candied licorice adding a darker tone. More backward and tight the 2010 St.-Joseph Ste.-Epine obviously possesses power depth ripeness and richness. At present it is dominated by its crushed rock and floral notes as well as its tannins but it is currently reticent and somewhat austere due to its recent bottling. This should turn out to be a blockbuster but potential purchasers are advised that it will require 3-4 years of bottle age. It should last for two decades. 92+
