Every bit as good, if not a touch better, the 2010 McPrice Myers Syrah Les Galets delivers a deep, meaty style with notions of currants, blackberry, smoked meat, cracked pepper, tobacco, and masses of crushed stone like mineral qualities emerging from the glass. A full-bodied effort, with a voluptuous richness that comes through more with air, it stays beautifully light and clean on the palate, with little apparent weight. More structure and tannin emerge on the finish, and like all of McPrice’s 2010s, it needs short term cellaring to come together. It is a gorgeous Syrah and will shine for over a decade.
