Explosive, seductively perfumed aromas of candied red and dark berries, incense, rose pastille and Asian spices. Sappy, penetrating black raspberry and blueberry flavors show excellent depth and clarity, with smoky mineral and star anise nuances gaining strength with air. Closes sweet and very long, with lingering spiciness and gentle tannins. Importer Jorge Ordonez told me that lots of high-end oak is used here, from the likes of Taransaud, Darnajou and Dominique Laurent, for example. -- Josh Raynolds

Hatched from the modern model, this dark, oaky Tempranillo is saturated in color, with flush, potent aromas of boysenberry, wood spice and lead pencil. It’s lively and bringing the volume, while flavors of charred, savory blackberry and barbecue end in a crusty tasting finish with some heat. Drink now through 2018.

The 2010 Volver (100% Tempranillo) is a single vineyard, outstanding effort that was aged in French oak for 14 months prior to being bottled unfiltered. Its deep ruby/purple color is followed by copious aromas of black currants, black cherries, pepper, underbrush and licorice. This well-made, medium to full-bodied effort should drink well for 4-5 years. - Robert M. Parker, Jr.

This bold red delivers plenty of espresso, black pepper and toasty oak flavors that frame a core of rich plum, boysenberry and sassafras. Features well-integrated tannins and enough acidity for liveliness. Drink now...
