The 2011 Marques de Casa Concha Cabernet Sauvignon Puente Alto is a single vineyard Cabernet from Maipo – the classical region for the Bordeaux grape – blended with a little Cabernet Franc, Syrah and Petit Verdot. Raised in French oak barrels, it is fresh and quite classic, with aromas of blackberries, cassis and tobacco with hints of menthol and herbal notes, and a distinct sweetness. I also tasted the 2010 and 2001 next to the 2011, and they all share some character that Marcelo Papa describes as ash notes. The palate is medium-bodied and the tannins are soft and polished. This is a very good Cabernet. Drink 2014-2018. - Luis Gutierrez
