94+ As it approaches its seventh birthday, the 2011 Bel Canto is showing well, offering up lovely aromas of crushed cassis, loamy soil, cigar smoke, petroleum jelly and espresso roast. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, supple and succulent, with an ample core of fruit that's still beautifully vibrant, framed by fine-grained tannins and concluding with a long, tangy finish. From an underrated vintage, I suspect that this rendition of Bel Canto won't reach its true peak for another two or three years, and it should prove to be long-lived. - William Kelley

This has matured to a handy play between fresher red berries and more savory leaves, cloves and earthy notes. The palate has a supple, soft and fleshy core. Really impressive, smooth-honed tannins carry attractive and fresh red and dark plums. 84% cabernet franc, 8% merlot and 8% petit verdot. Drink or hold. - Nick Stock

Cabernet Franc (84%) takes the lead with the rest equal parts Merlot and Petit Verdot. It offers a complex assortment of herbs, including thyme and sage, along with floral notes, blackberry and anise. It's restrained yet fully flavored with a captivating feel and firm, fine-grained tannins. A complete dazzler that will only improve with some additional time in the cellar. Best from 2014 on.
