His 2011 is more approachable than the grand cru, with a friendly buzz of citrus flavor over layers of pale minerality. It feels harmonious and complete, a joyous Chassagne that will deliver plenty of satisfaction whether you open it now or wait a decade.

There is enough reduction present to make a 15 to 20 minute aeration advisable. There is impressive concentration to the quite seductively textured medium weight plus flavors that possess an opulent, even unctuous palate impression, all wrapped in an extract-rich, lingering and mouth coating finish. This saline and mineral-inflect effort is well-balanced and short reward short to medium-term cellaring.
