A big, smoky Volnay, saturated with black fruit richness, this wine’s flavors are interrupted by tannins before continuing on in a long red-spice finish. It’s tightly focused, hard around the edges, needing several years in the cellar to develop complexity.

A rich, supple red, with pure cherry, floral and earth tones backed by a well-integrated structure. Just a bit firm on the finish now, with a long, mineral aftertaste. Should come together soon. Best from 2015 through 2027. – BS

A pretty and notably ripe nose of plum, dark berries and a touch of earth leads to attractively rich, round and velvety middle weight flavors that possess good balance and length if only average depth. Still, this is an attractive villages that should be relatively accessible young. Note further that initially it was a bit tight with noticeable gas yet with a bit of air it became much more agreeable.
