This is layered and beautiful with dark berry, hints of chocolate and hot stones. Full body with beautiful clarity, density and depth of fruit. 18 months in new wood, then in cement. A beautiful, focused red. Better in 2018 but a joy to taste now.

The 2011 Duemani is an IGT expression of Cabernet Franc. This is a spectacular interpretation of the grape with full-throttle aromas of dark fruit, dried blackberry, coffee, tar, leather and grilled herb in that order of importance. Crushed mineral also appears in a diminished role. You can really taste the precision and focus that summarizes Luca D'Attoma's winemaking style. Give this beautiful wine a few years to find its footing. - Monica Larner
