Wine Spectator - Wine Spectator, May 2014
A broad and open-textured red, delivering pure blueberry and spice flavors. Not heavy, but the flavors persist into the deftly balanced finish. Shiraz, Grenache and Mourvèdre. Drink now through 2018. – HS

This wine’s plum, mocha and cedar notes are carried by ample body and a silky texture. It’s a round, supple blend of 59% Shiraz, 31% Grenache and 10% Mourvèdre that finishes long, reverberating with fresh acids and mocha... Deep ruby almost black core. Attractive aromas of plums, blackberries and cherry cola meld with bundles of eucalyptus. Additional notes of sage, lavender, graphite and a light touch of smoke put this on the savory side... Deep ruby almost black core. Additional notes of sage, lavender, graphite and a light touch of smoke put this on the savory side of the spectrum. The palate is a lovely confirmation of the nose that is quite refreshing with well-integrated tannins. This Barossa classic has just started to find its stride and should continue to please for another 5+ years. A great wine that shows the area’s terroir without breaking the bank.

Bright red cherry and punchy blackberry pairs with eucalyptus and smoky notes on the nose. Juicy and medium-bodied on the palate with more complexity emerging as hints of scorched earth and iron shavings come through on the refreshing finish. A more delicate Plexus than we’ve seen in the past with well-balanced fruit and acidity. This will make a terrific food wine – it should pair exceptionally with hearty meat dishes.
