93+ The 2011 Clos de la Pucelle is exceptional this year, with a lovely structured personality that still shows off all of the elegance and purity of terroir to come with just a bit of bottle age. The deep, pure and classy nose wafts from the glass in a complex blend of apple, white peach, orange zest, chalky soil tones, a touch of fresh almond and a lovely base of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and nascently complex, with a lovely sense of reserve, a rock solid core, crisp acids and excellent length and grip on the focused and utterly classic finish. Starts out rich, with a plush texture enveloping the lemon, green apple, spice and mineral flavors. Turns lean and sleek, featuring a mineral element on the long aftertaste. Mouthwatering finish. Best from 2015 through 2022. 450 cases made. –BS

This is also quite expressive with its aromas of honeysuckle, white peach, nectarine and pear scents. Here too there is good volume and intensity to the delicious, round and generously proportioned flavors that offer fine length but not the depth or minerality of the Clos du Cailleret. Note that this too improved materially with air as initially it was a bit flat and unfocused.
