Packed with fruit character, this deep, ripe version offers plenty of new oak, revealing a rich texture and zesty flavors of smoky licorice, blackberry cobbler and cracked pepper. Drink now through 2019. – TF

Aromas of both black and bing cherry intertwine with notes of roasted coffee shitake and a touch of mint on a sweetly perfumed nose. Soft and luscious on entry the prominent fruit is supported by fine tannins which spread broadly across the palate giving the wine that classic 'Prisoner' power and weight. As with Orin Swift's other 2011s this shows more acidity than past vintages keeping it lively and vibrant while still remaining rich and dense. Another excellent vintage that will please fans of this ever-popular wine.
