The 2011 Esprit Blanc de Tablas is showing very well, offering up an expressive nose of marmalade, rose water, drawn butter and citrus blossom. On the palate, it's glossy, medium to full-bodied and pure, with lovely energy and mid-palate depth, concluding with a chalky, youthful finish. While 2011 was a cool year in Paso Robles, it wasn't by any means as challenging as it was on the North Coast, and this must be counted as a great success, still in its infancy. - William Kelley

The blend is Roussanne, Grenache Blanc and Picpoul Blanc. The wine is bone dry and nicely acidic, with a burst of stony minerality accompanying Meyer lemon, orange rind, subtle green bean, vanilla and white pepper flavors. It’s complex but aloof. Don’t drink it too cold.
