The 2011 Moschofilero is probably the loser of the recent trilogy of 2011-2013, all reviewed as part of this issue's vertical, but it is pretty nice in its own right. While not quite projecting the same concentration and power as the 2012 and 2013, it is fresh and friendly, showing expressive fruit, good acidity and fine balance. It should hold reasonably well for the next couple of years or so. - Mark Squires

Focused and fresh, this white offers touches of richness. Concentrated ruby grapefruit and Meyer lemon flavors lend this plenty of citrusy zest. Savory notes enliven the crisp, well-structured finish. Drink now through 2015. – KM

This bears a lot of grape skin character in both the spiciness of its flavors and the peach-fuzz grip of its tannins. Together with its orange and strawberry fruit and oxidative notes, it’s a moschofilero for meat, like Cornish game hens roasted with orange slices.
