The 2011 Garrafeira Quinta da Falorca Old Vines is remarkably elegant and mouth-coating, while still maintaining a graceful feel. It predictably tightens a bit on the finish as its backbone takes over, but the tannins are well balanced with the concentrated fruit. Showing more mid-palate weight than its sibling, the Noblesse Oblige, its only flaw at the moment is that the oak is a bit too obvious, but that will continue to improve. This is beautifully balanced, full of flavor and built to age. It's another winner from this fine boutique. Give it a few years to develop some complexity and pull in the oak if you can. - Mark Squires
