Admirably juicy apple and white peach are mingled with nut oils in the Weinbach 2011 Riesling Cuvee Sainte Catherine, a bottling that lacks the clarity and complexity of the corresponding Schlossberg and betrays a hint of heat from its 14% alcohol, but is nevertheless richly mouth-filling and sustained in piquantly nut-tinged fruit intensity. It's certainly possible that more refinement and nuance will be evidenced with a few years in bottle, but I would plan tentatively to have drunk this by 2017. - David Schildknecht
