There is just enough reduction present to remove the top notes from the otherwise ripe and complex dark berry fruit earth and game-infused nose. There is good power to the concentrated and broad-shouldered flavors that are underpinned by relatively fine tannins on the slightly edgy finish. There is a lot of gas present and my guess is that the dryness is more due to it than any under ripe structural elements.
