The 2011 Terroir Unico Malbec comes from a 15-year-old espalier vineyard located 1,350 meters and is fermented with natural yeasts and aged in concrete tanks rather than wood. It has a wonderful bouquet with blackberry, tomato vine and granitic notes. It has what you might call a “naked” nose disrobed of oak, but it is very pure and vibrant. The palate is fresh and vibrant embroidered with brisk, fine tannins. It is suffused with lively pure black cherry and bilberry fruit and a taut, citric, dry finish. You would never guess this is from Argentina, and it is just downright, unapologetically delicious. Drink now-2017.
