Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2012 tasting in Beaune. The 2012 Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru Pucelles from Anne-Claude Leflaive has an outstanding bouquet: very well defined, surfeit of mineralité with flinty, smoky notes developing after. There is real intensity and focus here. The palate is clean and fresh, almost clinical, with hints of lime cordial and citrus fruit, a dash of spice on the finish that is long and penetrating. This has a long future ahead - the best showing of Leflaive's 2012s in this blind tasting. - Neal Martin

(BH92-94 points) This is arguably the most aromatically elegant and refined wine among the Leflaive 1ers with its pure aromas of honeysuckle, citrus, pear and white peach. There is good richness and volume to the equally pure, intense and detailed flavors that brim with minerality on the delineated, focused and notably dry finish. This impeccably well-balanced effort should reward at least 10 years of cellar time and is very much a classically styled Pucelles. Highly recommended.

Very serious, attention-grabbing nose with masses of concentration. Tastes almost like (some people's) grand cru in terms of concentration. Masses to chew on and also masses of acidity. Very solid indeed. Should have a very long life. Great array of complex 'mineral' aftertaste. Majestic. 17.5/20
