The 2012 Feytit-Clinet is one of the more massive, structured Pomerols of the year. Inky dark fruit, crème de cassis, violets, mint, sage, chocolate, lavender, smoke and tobacco fill out the wine's ample, large-scaled frame with aplomb. There is no shortage of power or intensity. The only question is how long the tannins will need to soften. Today, the Feytit-Clinet is a bruiser. But that doesn't stop it from being both compelling and drop-dead gorgeous. I have been deeply impressed with what I have tasted from proprietor Jérémy Chasseuil over the last few years.

The finish is long, opulent and beautifully textured. This is stunning Pomerol in this vintage. Drink it over the next 12-15 years. There is also room for further improvement. The final blend was 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc with the alcohol 14.1% from tiny yields of 22 hectoliters per hectare. - Robert Parker

(NM91-93 points) Jeremy Chasseuil is one of the appellations lesser known stars who is really taking this cru to a higher level. I love the nose on the Feytit Clinet 2012 – such purity and expressive with subtle sea foam notes that gently waft from the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine, supple tannins. There is great tension here – a sleek, stylish Pomerol that is perhaps a little more modern than previous vintages, but it will be great wine that will give great pleasure.

A silky and refined wine with superb balance and beauty for the vintage. Full-bodied, very fine and following through to a long and flavorful finish. Dark fruit and light coffee on the finish. Better in 2017.

Initially bound-up on the nose, but a whiff of oak blew off to reveal spicy aromas of dark cherry, musky blackberry and coffee. Then more blackberry, coffee and cocoa on the simple, clean palate. Begins fairly dry but finishes sweeter and more supple, with moderate length. This 6.1-hectare vineyard is situated between Trotanoy and Latour a Pomerol across the road in the lower Clinet sector of the Pomerol appellation. - Ian D'Agata
