The power and complexity of wines from the slope of the Côte de Py is very evident in this wine. Densely argued, it is a solid wine with red fruits and a strong minerality from the volcanic soil. The acidity and tannic structure promise aging, and the wine will be best drunk from 2016.

The 2012 Morgon Cote du Py, which comes from blue volcanic soils and sees 10 months in 50% new wood, has a gorgeous, voluptuous bouquet with pure black cherries and cassis fruit that is very well-defined and in synch with the wood. The palate is medium-bodied with very smooth tannins. This is a suave Morgon Cote du Py that gently caresses the palate and leaves a touch of spice on the finish. Delicious!
