It is no wimpy wine at 14.9% natural alcohol and appears to be made from Bordeaux varietals. It demonstrates that like Napa, Sonoma can also make exquisite, full-throttle, multidimensional, big, rich red wines. This dense purple-colored effort possesses oodles of blackberry and cassis fruit, hints of charcoal and background oak, attractive glycerin and a full-bodied opulence. It is still primary, but offers beautiful purity, density and full-bodied power. Give it another 1-2 years to develop additional nuances, and drink it over the next two decades. - Robert Parker
