Wine Enthusiast, April 2013
(93–95 points) Barrel sample. A complex and very successful wine, this shows rich tannins, dark fruits, a powerful texture of ripe blackberry fruits and spiced acidity. It will shine with some serious aging. ROGER VOSS

One of the best efforts I’ve tasted from them in recent years, the wine has an opaque purple color, a sweet nose of cassis, blueberries, black cherries, licorice and earth that follows through brilliantly on the palate with full body, beautiful texture, depth and impressive concentration and ripeness. Everything is in total balance in this beautiful St.-Emilion that should drink well for 12-15 or more years.- RP

Red fleshed fruits, tobacco, spices and licorice add nuance in an inviting, beautifully layered wine. The 2012 is supple and gracious. Finesse prevails over pure power in this gravel-rich terroir. The blend is 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. Christine Derenoncourt and Julien Lavenu consult. -- Antonio Galloni
