Tasted blind at the annual "Burgfest" tasting in Beaune. The 2012 Nuits St Georges 1er Cru Aux Murgers from Domaine Méo-Camuzet appears to be continuing its upward evolution. It has a beautiful, quixotic bouquet with pure Pinot Noir fruit: mineral-laced wild strawberry and raspberry fruit that blossoms in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with very fine tannin, supremely well judged acidity and beautifully integrated oak that probably needs another year or two to be fully enmeshed. Otherwise, this constitutes a wonderful, Vosne-like, sensual Nuits Saint Georges that just seems to be getting better and better in bottle. - Neal Martin
