(WA94-96 points) The 2012 Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru has a powerful bouquet that has a distinct marine influence of oyster shell and seaweed. The palate is medium-bodied with quite a structured entry. The acidity is well judged with a sinewy but very focused, more Musigny-like finish. Excellent. - Neal Martin

(BH89-92 points) Reduction blocks an evaluation of the nose. There is good flesh to the supple and very round middle weight flavors that possess reasonably good balance and excellent length but not nearly the same size, weight and volume of the other grands crus in the range. Bigger of course does not mean better, especially in Burgundy, but this is a bit of an enigma as it seems unduly compact today.
