The 2012 Pinot Noir Jacob Hart Vineyard was biodynamically certified in 2009. Picked October 8-11, it includes 25% whole-cluster fruit, matured for 12 months in 36% new oak. It has a very precise bouquet that allows the mineralité to show through, very focused and poised with dark cherries, freshly tilled soil, nutmeg and cracked black pepper. The palate is medium-bodied with very supple tannin married with a keen line of acidity. It gently builds toward a fresh, nervous finish that lingers long in the mouth. Superb. - Neal Martin
