The most forward and supple of the whites, the 2012 Chardonnay Sierra Mar comes from decomposed granite and gravelly loam soils and was barrel fermented and aged 11 months in 40% new French oak. It offers up classic notes of apple blossom, white flowers, citrus and hints of brioche to go with a medium-bodied, supple, forward and delicious feel on the palate. It's hard to resist, and I see no reason to delay gratification either. - Jeb Dunnuck
