The 2012 Pinot Noir Mineral Springs Vineyard includes 30% whole-cluster fruit and is aged in 45% new French oak. The nose is nicely focused with a mixture of red and black fruit, subtle sous-bois scents and later, just a touch of licorice. The palate is medium-bodied with well-judged acidity, clean dark berry fruit tinged with cola and spice, leading to an elegant and focused finish. This is very fine: a sophisticated Pinot Noir to enjoy over the next decade. - Neal Martin
