jamessuckling.com, November 2016

The plum-fruit character with salted almonds here is fascinating. Full body, and this really grows on the palate, showing a powerful depth of fruit and wonderful length. Drink in 2020.

Wine Spectator, October 2018

There is plenty of fruit here in the form of black cherry, plum and blueberry flavors, shaded by iron and tobacco notes. The tannins are assertive now, yet overall, this remains balanced, with a core of sweet fruit and a...

Vinous, January 2023

The 2012 Brunello di Montalcino is dark and spicy in the glass, boasting depths of crushed ashen stone, incense and curries before evolving to show cinnamon-dusted black cherries. It’s silky in texture, communicating...

Decanter, August 2017

An exuberant, polished nose with herbal-suffused cherry fruit yielding to a concentrated, firm and robust palate, but one that avoids any heaviness. Very nicely done and well-managed.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, June 2017

The 2012 Brunello di Montalcino offers delicate tones and crisp lines that set it apart. Dark fruit is followed by dried cherry, pressed flowers and mild spice. The wine shows very nice balance and impressive length. The...

The Talenti Winery is situated in the south of Montalcino, not far from the small medieval borough of S. Angelo in Colle. The winery was established in 1980 by Pierluigi Talenti who had fallen in love with the fascinating property and grounds, and decided to leave the mountains of his native Romagna for the sweet and sunny hills of Montalcino.

The winery now owns a total of 40 hectares, about 21 of which are vineyards. Sixteen of the hectares are Sangiovese. The remaining five hectares hold a mix of varieties such as Colorino, Canaiolo, Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet. The vines grow in a rocky soil of medium density at an altitude of about 650 to 400 feet.

Since 1999, the winery has been managed by Pierluigi’s grandson Riccardo Talenti who continues his family’s work with the same dedication and passion of the past years. Experience and thorough research of new technologies combined with a healthy respect for tradition allowed the winery to reach the high levels of quality it enjoys today.

Talenti Brunello di Montalcino is the red wine which constitutes the “heart” of the Talenti winery. Since 1981, it’s been produced with 100% Sangiovese grapes grown in the winery’s best vineyard blocks.

After careful vinification, the wine matures in oak barrels (26 and 18 hl) with a small percentage aging in 500 liter tonneaus for two and a half years. 12 months aging in the bottle follow before release.
