A new cuvee, the 2012 Pinot Noir Sta. Rita Hills comes mostly from the Bentrock Vineyard, yet also sees some grapes from La Encantada. Mostly destemmed and aged in almost all neutral 228-liter barrels, it offers pretty strawberry, rose petal, crushed rock and that sweet Sta. Rita Hills spice character that’s present in most of the Pinots from this cool region. Medium-bodied, fresh, elegant and layered, it’s another superb red from this estate that will evolve nicely for 4-6 years. - Jeb Dunnuck
