Over the years, Seghesio’s solid Zins bearing the simple Sonoma County designation have been among the better values to be found, but this 2012 just might be the best bottling yet and is a deep, very well-focused, impressively extracted wine that is long on fruity muscle. While it takes on an edge of astringency at the finish, its tannins are not out of bounds and afford it the spine and the structure needed for aging, and service with the richer foods for which it is made will make its minor, last-minute heat next to unnoticeable.
