World’s End, named after the district of Chelsea in London where Jonathan and Lyn Maltus first lived, is a Napa Valley winery started by Maltus in 2008. It is the culmination of over 20 years of winemaking in Saint-Emilion, Bordeaux and overseas by Jonathan Maltus and his team.

Emulating the estate in Bordeaux, World’s End offers handcrafted, single-vineyard and reserve fine wines. The single-vineyard wines represent different expressions of the Napa Valley and come from the top ‘vineyard designated’ blocks from both valley floor and from the mountains in limited quantities.

The reserve wines are classic and good value wines blended to combine many of the disparate terroirs that make up the Napa Valley. All are made with sense of power and elegance.

If Six was Nine is the estate’s take on a Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon varietal wine. However, being from Bordeaux, Maltus found it difficult to live with just one variety! So a little Merlot is blended in to help the middle palate and Cabernet Franc to provide just that extra bit of lift.

The wine is sourced from a number of different vineyards which all have something in common – they are from the classic valley floor, cool climate hill or mountain vineyards. Each element brings to the final blend different values – a richness from the valley and a raciness from the mountains.

If Six was Nine is the estate’s biggest production from Napa.
